Oklahoma Tour de Dirt Scheduled Clinics

Saturday, May 3, 2008 – Ardmore, OK – Red River Shootout

For more information on the TdD: http://www.okearthbike.com/tdd2008.html

Who: The clinic is designed for everyone. Family members wanting to learn more about racing, to experienced racers looking for beneficial tips. Most participants are first time racers anywhere from 10 to 70 years old.

When: The clinic starts Saturday at 1 PM race weekend.

Where: The clinic is held in the Team NRC/PedalMasher team area. Look for our tents in the team area.

Join Team NRC/PedalMasher for a fun and exciting race clinic guaranteed to teach you the fundamentals of mountain bike racing. Learn from veteran racers with years of race experience what it is like to race, how to get to know your competition, how to plan for your race, and most importantly to have fun. The clinic offers invaluable information that benefits even the most experienced racers. So get a leg up on the competition and attend the clinic. After racing, many clinic participants have thanked us for knowing exactly what to do when the race got tough. Some even join the team!

The clinic has three parts, all of which are optional and free.

Start Time 1 PM

Part 1: Is a lesson in rules, strategy, technique, and tips to make you more competitive. We will cover things such as age classes, categories, USA Cycling MTB rules, the paydirt program, points, scoring, trail etiquette, protests, results, awards, nutrition, hydration, and what to expect in the race. Most importantly we will spend a great deal of time sharing race experience and strategy particular to each race course and how to deal with the other racers around you.

Start Time 2:30 PM

Part 2: Is a preride of the course led by Team NRC/PedalMasher team members. Ride with experienced racers who can offer insight, tips, and knowledge of the race course. The preride starts with a practice race start where we line up all the clinic participants, countdown just like race day, and give everyone a chance to do a short sprint next to other riders. We then break up into two or three groups of riders riding at different speeds. This is a no drop ride ridden well below race pace with a sweeper rider following everyone.

Part 3: Bike preparation. After the preride is finished, Team NRC/PedalMasher bike mechanics would be happy to help you get your bike tuned and ready to race. Get those annoying squeaks and creaks taken care before race day.
